Including unusual romantic weekend breaks

Life can be a little hard at times. The day-to-day mundane routines can take hold of you and often you can find yourself taking out any frustrations you have in life with your nearest and dearest. Your partners are often at the brunt of it all, and sometimes it is hard to show those people in our lives just how much we do love them. Being a parent isn’t easy, and managing your career and life just adds to the mix, and sometimes relationships can suffer. No matter what time of the year it is, a relationship can feel undue stress and pressure, and this is when extra attention is needed. Why you need a weekend break as a couple

Every relationship gets a bit stuck from time to time. That’s why it’s important to treat your loved one to romantic breaks every now and then to help keep you both connected. From city breaks to a romantic getaway for 2, we have all the reasons below why you should be jetting off now for a holiday.

Regular date nights

It may sound obvious, and something you have read countless times before, but date nights really can help rekindle the relationship. It isn’t necessarily about going out and the change of scenery, of course, that really helps, but it is the other psychological factors that really start to get the juices flowing. It’s the chance to wear something different from what you do day to day. It’s the opportunity to hold a conversation without worrying about whether your children are eating, behaving or happy. It’s the relaxation element of just being you, the individual, who you still are, but often can feel like they are lost when drowning under the day-to-day routines of life. Try it out and see what you think.

You could go to a luxury and cosy hotel for dinner or get a private room just for the two of you.

A trip away somewhere just you two

Maybe take the whole date night thing to another level and actually go away somewhere for the night. Enjoying romantic weekend breaks is definitely a way to help rekindle the spark and enjoy each other’s company without the distractions of home life. I understand that not all of us can do this regularly, but even having the intention and booking something in advance can give you that feeling of excitement and anticipation. Enjoying romantic weekend breaks in a secluded hotel or even a quick jaunt abroad for a city break could be just what you need to rekindle the romance, recharge the batteries, and feel ready to take on life.

If you prefer somewhere in the UK then have a look at the Lake District or North Yorkshire. For a weekend away have a look at New York city and a hotel with views over Times Square.

Regular communication

Sometimes it just takes a little communication to know exactly what your other half is thinking and feeling. We can get absorbed in what we have to do, and forget that there are other people involved in our lives. Take some time to talk about things, allocate it if needs be, and make sure you don’t have any distractions around. You can choose to do this on date nights, when enjoying romantic weekend breaks, or even just spending time each evening to understand how each others day was or what might be on their mind. Even if it is just five minutes each day to talk about our day could be enough to feel wanted and needed by someone else. The more you talk and communicate, the more in touch with each others feelings you will be. This is essentially important for a long-lasting relationship. You will always be learning about one another, no matter how long you have been together.

Help each other live out their dreams and desires

This might sound a little strange, but you got together for a reason. You may have shared dreams, goals, ambitions for life or the same destinations on your bucket list. It could be that each of you has your own dreams and desires. As one part of a couple, you do have the responsibility to support and help someone get to where they want to be. When enjoying romantic weekend breaks try and see different places that will fit each other’s dreams and desires. When enjoying a date night try and take it in turns choosing an activity. Get involved with their hobbies or show interest in their career. Help and support them in a project or something they are doing. The more you are there for your partner, the more in tune you will be as a couple.

One weekend could be snuggling up beside a burning stove in a lodge and the next doing an extreme sport. Talk to each other and agree on a plan.

Nights or weekends without the tech

Finally, social media, emails, text messages, and phone calls, can all be distracting elements of a night in or when enjoying romantic weekend breaks, even if you are just watching the latest box set craze on Netflix. So why not have one night a week with no tech? Or when you are enjoying a date night or romantic weekend breaks you choose not to indulge in social media and communication with others. Simply use your smartphone to take a quick selfie or picture every now and again. Watch some TV, completely remove yourself from tech entirely, and just have a meal and talk. It can be a great way to open up lines of communication and feel like you are out on a date in your own home. You will start to notice perhaps how dependent you are on technology, and how distracting it can be. Something as simple as this can work wonders for a relationship.

When it comes to any relationship it requires work and dedication. So make sure you invest that time into each other. You will never regret it!
